Marie Doskočilová

Marie has been teaching English since studying at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno, where she obtained her master’s degree in education (extended studies with a three-year course in school management) and in English and American studies, specialising in cultural studies. She acquired her TEFL teaching certificate in Leeds, in the UK.
After returning to the Czech Republic, Marie worked as a university teacher and started to focus more on language skill testing, especially developing standardised tests and the methodology of assessing productive skills. She qualified as an examiner for FCE, STANAG 6001 and for the new Czech standardised “maturita” (equivalent of British A levels). She continues to extend her skills through post-graduate studies. She loves visiting England, last time as part of her scholarship at the University of Essex in 2009.
In her free time, Marie loves travel and photography. She spent a year on an ocean liner, where she worked as a Youth Activity Programmer.
