Petr Antonín

Petr is almost a legend among English teachers in Brno. During his long career, he has prepared thousands of students for examinations. Petr studied English at the Faculty of Arts, UJEP (nowadays the Masaryk University), in 1968-69 he received a Diploma in English Studies in Ealing, London, taught briefly at the grammar school in Holešov and then many years at the State Language School in Brno, where he also founded and headed the English Club. Several months before the Velvet Revolution (1989) he founded the first language mini-school, which grew up to be TRAVEL 2002, a large English-specialised school, the predecessor of Brno English Centre. Apart from teaching, Petr interprets, translates and guides English-speaking tours. He has interpreted for a number of famous personalities and celebrities.

Petr’s hobbies include biking, cross-country skiing and singing – he is a member of Mátl Academic Choir and has been co-organising tours of North American choirs and orchestras in Central Europe for 20 years.

His latest hobby, born in June 2009, is called Oliver.
